On 23rd May, 2016, Professor Xinyuan Song of Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was invited by the Institute of Economics and Finance (IEF) to give a lecture entitled “Statistical Analysis of a Generalized Hidden Markov Model”. A.P. Lu Bin chaired the seminar, and participants included all teachers and some students of the IEF, professor Liu Guangying of School of Science and Dr. Yonggan Zhao, the visiting scholar from Dalhousie University of Canada.
Professor Song
Professor Song comes from the department of statistics of the CUHK. She is the assistant dean of school of science and head of the graduate school of department of statistics in CUHK, her research field covers latent variable model, Bayesian distribution, Non-parametric and semi-parametric estimation, computational statistics and survival analysis.
Professor Song is the associate editor or editorial member of several well-known journals (including Biometrics, Psychometrika, Structural Equation Modeling: A multidisciplinary Journal, Computational Statistics & Data Analysis), she has published over 100 papers in international journals such as Journal of the American Statistical Association, Biometrika, Bioinformatics and Psychometrika.
