On 28 October, Mr. Wang Juemin, Dean of the Zhongyan Green Finance Research Institute, gave a lecture titled "Correct Career Planning, Achieving Your Ideal Self: Career Planning for University Students" in Room 208 of the Jingxiu Building. The lecture was chaired by Associate Professor Guo Huanxiu, Assistant Dean of the Institute of Economics and Finance and Director of the Centre for Green Economy and Finance Research, and was attended by more than one hundred students from across the university.
Mr. Wang Juemin is currently Executive Dean of the Zhongyan Green Finance Research Institute, Deputy Director of the Green Finance Professional Committee of the Jiangsu Financial Industry Federation, an off-campus supervisor at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and the Jingwen School of Soochow University, and a nationally certified career planning consultant with extensive experience in career planning.
At the start of the lecture, Mr. Wang Juemin posed several questions for students to reflect on: "What is a university? What is the meaning of university? Now that you have been on campus for some time, do you already have your own career plan?" He then explained the secrets of career planning in an accessible manner — through self-positioning ("Who am I?"), clarifying goals ("Where do I want to go?"), and mapping the path ("How do I get there?") — helping students gain a clearer understanding of themselves and their future, guiding them to make career plans suited to their own circumstances and to become their ideal selves. He concluded the lecture with several pieces of advice for the university years.
The quality of a career may affect one's entire life course. To establish oneself in increasingly fierce social competition, we need not only solid capabilities but also reasonable planning for the future. Based on a correct understanding of one's own conditions and social development, reasonable career planning can help us clarify our direction and make every drop of sweat more meaningful. The atmosphere at the lecture was lively, with frequent interaction between faculty and students, and it received widespread praise from the students. At the same time, this lecture was conducted on the principle of "everything for students, everything serving students, everything for students' growth and success", genuinely starting from students' needs. The successful holding of this lecture helped students gain a clearer understanding of themselves and their future, guided them to make career plans suited to their own circumstances, and encouraged them to become their ideal selves.
