On the afternoon of 15 May 2024, Mr. Wang Zugang — Jiangsu Provincial Industrial Professor, off-campus postgraduate supervisor at Nanjing Audit University, and researcher at the Jiangsu Zijin Industrial Finance Development Research Institute — was invited to deliver a lecture on "Introduction to the Frontiers of Financial Technology" for undergraduates of the Institute planning to join the "2+2" dual degree programme. The lecture covered the background of the fintech era, its technological foundations, innovative applications, and strategic landscape, aiming to help students understand the latest development trends and application prospects of financial technology and to lay a foundation for their future study abroad and career development.
The lecture was held in Jinghui East 104. With vivid language and rich case studies, Mr. Wang Zugang explained the various aspects of financial technology in an accessible manner. He pointed out that fintech is one of the fastest-growing technology fields in recent years and has become an important force driving financial reform and innovation as well as economic and social development. The rapid development of fintech has brought profound changes to the traditional financial industry and has also created broad employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for young students.
Mr. Wang Zugang placed particular emphasis on the significance of fintech for the students present who were planning to study abroad. He stated that fintech represents an important trend in future global financial development, and that mastering fintech knowledge and skills will better position students to compete on the international stage after completing their studies. He advised students to actively follow the development of fintech and to keep learning new knowledge and skills in preparation for becoming international financial talent.
Before the lecture began, Dean Sun Yang of the Institute of Economics and Finance presented Mr. Wang Zugang with an "Off-campus Supervisor" letter of appointment.
This lecture was one of the learning and exchange platforms the Institute has built for its students. The Institute will continue to invite industry experts and scholars to teach on campus, providing students with more opportunities for learning and development.
